Monday is an evening for longer games and for juniors at several Oslo clubs. Schakklubben av 1911 plays its autumn tournament rounds at Damplassen from 18:45, with its youth section at the same place earlier on; Offerspill meets on selected Mondays at Majorstuen Seniorarena; Kampen på Brettet plays classical chess every second Monday; Akademisk Sjakklubb Oslo has run a Monday beginners' evening at Blindern.

Dragulf Oslo USK and Stovnersjakk hold children's evenings, Nordstrand's youth club runs a course at Stenbråten skole, and Groruddalen sjakklubb opens Tiurleiken skole at Romsås to anyone, free and without sign-up. In Akershus the clubs of Asker, Slemmestad, Lillestrøm, Vestby and Bekkestua play on Mondays too.
