The Sjakkduell site reports the final of Oslosjakken 2026 in the banquet hall of Oslo City Hall on 6 May 2026, with a little over 100 pupils, after the 2025 final in the same hall (report of 6 May 2025, more than 100 pupils from 18 lower secondary schools). Each school first holds its own qualifying tournament, which the project organises and which costs the school nothing; the project is financed by Oslo municipality and for now takes 20 of the 62 lower secondary schools. A school championship for pupils, not a drop-in event.
